Ekiti State Scholarship Board 2025/2026 Scholarship & Bursary Applications Now Open

The Ekiti State Scholarship Board 2025/2026 has officially announced the commencement of applications for Scholarship and Bursary Awards for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This opportunity is open to Ekiti State indigenes currently studying in Nigerian tertiary institutions, including universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other accredited institutions.

The scheme is aimed at supporting academically qualified and financially challenged students across different levels of study.

Categories of Ekiti State Scholarship Board Awards

The 2025/2026 scholarship scheme covers the following categories:

• Undergraduate Scholarship

• Polytechnic & NCE Scholarship

• Postgraduate Scholarship (Master’s & Ph.D.)

• Bursary Award

• Scholarship for Physically Challenged Students

Eligibility Requirements

A. Bursary Award Eligibility

To qualify for the Bursary Award, applicants must:

1. Be in 200 level or above

2. Possess WASSCE/NECO with at least five (5) credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in one sitting

3. Be a student of any of the following institutions:

   • Universities

   • Polytechnics

   • Colleges of Education

   • Schools of Nursing/Midwifery

   • Colleges of Health Technology

B. Undergraduate, Polytechnic & NCE Scholarship

Applicants must:

• Be in 200 level or above

• Possess WASSCE/NECO with a minimum of five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in one sitting

• Have a minimum academic standing as follows:

  • Universities: CGPA of 4.0 or Second Class Upper Division

  • Polytechnics & NCE: Minimum CGPA of 3.50 or its equivalent

C. Master’s & Ph.D. Scholarship

Applicants for postgraduate scholarships must possess:

• A minimum of Second Class Upper Division at undergraduate level

• For Ph.D. applicants, a distinction grade in Master’s degree is an added advantage

Important Note:
Applicants seeking Ph.D. sponsorship with a first degree below Second Class Upper or without a distinction in Master’s degree are NOT eligible.

D. Scholarship for Physically Challenged Students

Physically challenged students studying in any of the following institutions are eligible to apply:

• Universities

• Polytechnics

• Colleges of Education

• Schools of Nursing/Midwifery

• Colleges of Health Technology

• Postgraduate institutions

Application Period

• Opening Date: Monday, 9th February 2026

• Closing Date: Friday, 27th February 2026

Late applications will NOT be accepted.

All interested and eligible applicants must:

• Apply online only via the official Ekiti State Scholarship Board website @ https://scholarshipssb.com/

• Complete and submit the application form on or before Friday, 27th February 2026

• Note that application forms are free of charge

Part-time and sandwich students are NOT eligible for either the scholarship or bursary awards.

Incomplete or late applications will be automatically disqualified.
