NNNGO Journalism Fellowship 2026

The Nigeria Network of NGOs (NNNGO) has announced the launch of its 2026 Journalism Fellowship Cohort, a one-year programme aimed at strengthening investigative and public-interest reporting in Nigeria.

This 12-month fellowship is designed to support experienced journalists in producing impactful, evidence-driven stories that promote accountability and protect civic values.

The programme focuses on reporting in the following areas:

  • Civil society

  • Human rights

  • Civic space

  • Countering digital misinformation

If you are a journalist passionate about telling stories that matter, this fellowship offers both professional development and financial support.

NNNGO Journalism Fellowship 2026 Benefits

Selected fellows will receive:

  • A 5-day hybrid capacity-building workshop facilitated by global experts

  • ₦100,000 monthly stipend (paid upon approved publications)

  • Dedicated professional mentorship and editorial guidance

  • Increased visibility through partner media platforms and major newsrooms

The fellowship is structured to help journalists refine their investigative skills while contributing meaningful stories to national discourse.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Have at least five (5) years of journalism experience

  • Be based in North East, South West, or South East Nigeria

  • Show clear interest in reporting on civic space, human rights, and digital misinformation

Women journalists are strongly encouraged to apply.

All applications must be submitted on or before:

20 February 2026

Late entries will not be reviewed.
