Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) is a federal government-owned university that is located in Lafia, which is the capital city of Nassarawa State.
The Federal University of Lafia was established in 2010 by the former Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan as part of the nine universities that were established across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria to ensure that every zone and state in Nigeria has a federal university.
The Federal University of Lafia, though established in 2010, commenced academic activities in 2012 under the administration of Vice Chancellor Professor Ekanem Ikpi Braide.
Initially established on its temporary site, it moved to its permanent site on Oba Road outside Lafia Metropolis. Federal University of Lafia has a dedicated intranet that is used for internet connection by students and staff.
